Summary

Description:

Our efforts are focused on creation of oral foreign language competence, because the most important skill for the personnel in tourism is the communicative one. The uniting element among the Slavic languages is the identical content of their vocabulary. It is the truthful basis for studying the foreign through the prism of the common. The lexically oriented model supports the purposeful motivation in the process of education. We propose three-level learning model, designed on the different character of the communicative situations with a view to specifics of the various types of tourist activities.

On the basis of the communicative language activities and strategies in CEF we are going to develop a method through which the employees in the field of Tourism will be able to use our products in their oral communication in the fastest, easiest, and most effective way.

Our main priority is the effectiveness of methodology. We will be guided by the Common reference levels, on which the treatment of language proficiency is based. Our method should be comprehensive, transparent, coherent, and user-friendly. We stress on the development of various types of communicative skills: questioning, answering, providing information, instructing people, preparing coherent oral texts, etc. Throughout the preparation of the methodology, we will start from what is a common, similar, related at all level and we will pay attention to the prognosis for the studies in the process of learning and self-education.

In our project we combine the economic efficiency with the goal of preservation the language diversity in Europe. This would give a chance for realization of people with inadequate or not special qualification who are working mainly in the peak moments of the tourist seasons. Ultimately, the project would increase the mobility that is inherent to the young people and other potential users of the products.

Target groups and sectors:

Tourism is a service sector with a particularly complex product which depends on an extremely fragmented supply (travel agencies, tour operators, carriers, hoteliers, restaurateurs, etc.) The tourist product is extremely diverse. Natural and cultural resources, tourist facilities, the communications, infrastructure, accommodation and restaurants are the basic resources of a tourist destination.

In our project we are oriented mainly towards the people who interact directly with the tourists. These are the persons working in: Accommodation services (hotels and other lodging services).
